Quote of the day—Wayne Witkowski

Certainly, gun control can’t prevent every problem… we’re too immature and irrational as a nation to earn that right to bear arms without very close scrutiny.

Editor’s Corner: Shootings show need for tighter gun control
[“…can’t prevent every problem”? The only “problems” I know that it has prevented is the resistance to tyrants by their victims.

Witkowski is speaking for himself when he says “we’re too immature and irrational”. The rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights and state constitutions don’t have to be earned. If he had matured enough to read and understand the constitution he would know that. If he was rational enough to reason his way through the concept of “close scrutiny” of people exercising their rights he would realize that casts a chilling effect upon the exercise of those rights and is unconstitutional.

But Witkowski is an advocate for gun control. And we already know that is a very strong indicator for the presence of immaturity and irrational thought.—Joe]

  1. “we’re too immature and irrational as a nation to earn that right to free speech without very close scrutiny.”

    Saddly, there are many who would nod right along. But perhaps its more illustrative that the tyrants are more openly speaking against Free Speech.

    Heck *they* are starting to use the term “speech nut” and directly connect supporters of free speech to gun nuts.

  2. If it’s tweaked just a little bit, it serves as an excellent miniature communist manifesto;

    “Certainly, state authorities can’t prevent every problem… we’re too immature and irrational as a nation to earn any freedoms without very close scrutiny.”

    And of course it works as a Margaret Sanger/Planned Parenthood/Eugenics/KKK mission statement;

    “Certainly, birth control and subsidized abortion can’t prevent every problem… the negro is too immature and irrational as a race to earn that right to bear and raise children without very close scrutiny.”

    If you look closely, you will find that the above is actually a paraphrase of some of Sanger’s quotes. She remains a darling of the Progressive movement to this day.

    It works for any Progressive cause;

    “Certainly, public education can’t prevent every problem… we’re too immature and irrational as a nation to earn that right to educate our own children without very close scrutiny.”

    Eventually of course it always ends up as”

    “Certainly, rationing can’t prevent every problem… we’re too immature and irrational as a nation to earn that right to any portion of the food supply without very close scrutiny.”

    For example of the latter, George Bernard Shaw – another darling of the Progressive movement;

    Wayne Witkowski is participating in a long, glorious, extremely deadly and destructive heritage, an ideology opposed to human life itself, unless it can be forced to serve a few megalomaniacs.

    • If the populace at large is “too immature and irrational as a nation to earn [basic civil rights] without very close scrutiny.”

      Then the idea that said populace is somehow fit to vote or pick representatives from the same populace at large is farcical.

      Which means that a person espousing said ideas sees represneative governance as either a shame to trick the rubes or as shiny distraction while the *real* leaders get to work.

      Or more succinctly: If you can’t trust the common prole with a gun, why do you trust him with a ballot?
