Quote of the day—Barb L.

Your pants were dirtier than any of my kids clothes ever were.

[Boomershoot is dirty. If it rains then it is muddy. If it is dry then it is dusty. This year it was dusty.

She put my jeans through the washer twice.

She described her shower Saturday evening as “epic” with a river of muddy water flowing down the drain.

Here is her rental car the morning after Boomershoot:

But some people think the joy things like this brings makes it all worthwhile:

Barron (standing in the crater from the fireball crater he created) seemed to think so:

But that is just part of the reason of Why Boomershoot.—Joe]

  1. There’s barely any dirt on that car! It looks like mine two days after I wash it — the joys of living on a dirt road. During “mud season” (when the frozen dirt turns to squishy mud in the spring thaw) it looks *much* worse than that.

    • You live on one, too? Interesting world.
Yeah, my car is never clean, either. Between trees (sap), road dust/mud, birds, bugs, and pollen, it’s a prettyit blends in as a “nothing inside worth stealing” car pretty well.
I got to hose it down before heading home from boomershoot this year, though. Dave (whitewolf) commented something to the effect “Hey, that’s actually a pretty green, under there there!” (He’d never seen the normal color before, because of all the annually-applied layers of dust or dirt).

  2. My car is still covered in dust too, should probably wash it next time I fill up the fuel tank!

Please tell me he had just shouted “ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?” when you snapped that pic. 😛

  4. Clever.
I like silver-gray cars because they don’t show dirt much. So that’s what I have now. (My previous car was bright red, mostly because it seemed a good idea — it was very small.)
