  1. I’m just going to say it. from that one statement we can tell she’s an idiot with little understanding of history, psychology, philosophy, criminal justice, or firearms.

  2. I’m just going to say it: I find Ashley refreshing in that s/he is straightforwardly saying what s/he wants without a bunch of flag waving or foaming-at-the-mouth rhetoric. S/he is out of touch with reality on gun banning, but still, it’s nice to not get lied to about wanting my guns taken away. Also, what Rolf said.

  3. It is interesting to get the “why” from folks like Ashley.

Even though we have little chance of swaying them, it’s a education to hear their reasoning.

    Usually disturbing and sometimes frightening.

    • “Usually disturbing and sometimes frightening.’

Ah! THAT, Mr. B, is the goal.
      “What’s troubling you
Is the nature of my game
      Pleased to meet you
      Hope you guess my name”

      If that’s not en eye opener, an epiphany of any kind, well;
I’m just going to say it. The authoritarian system runs on emotion. It is driven by emotion, to instill emotion into other people as a means of converting them to the authoritarian system, and of course as the means of controlling them in specific ways. If it can’t have your emotional attatchment to it, or worship of it, then it will still have you by means of your irritation, disturbance, and fear, etc. Emotion is a bit like Tolkein’s ring of power. The moment you put it on you’re under its sway– You’re living in the dark world, from which it was built. Emotion is the lever which separates you from reason. It is the tool by which you are driven from your own self interests. Looking at Obama, for example, whether you experience adoration, warm feelings of “love”, or intimidation, disgust or hate for all works to accomplish that separation. He’d like to have your adoration and “love” but he’ll accept your being disturbed or afraid. It all works to derail you. Rather than minding your own business, you’re responding to him either way. You’re being converted and adopted into the authoritarian system, and you know the deliciously evil part of it? You’re helping do it to yourself.

  4. I’m just going to say it. I think.

Therefore, I think we shouldn’t ban guns, any more than we should ban Bibles, Korans, Books of Mormon, Buddha statues, Shiva and/or Kali statues, Native American art, cameras, microphones, TVs, radios, computers, cars, buses, trains, swimming pools, or anything else that millions upon millions of people use every single day without harming themselves or anyone else.

I’ve thought long and hard, using a variety of starting points, logical variations, and fact-based evidence, and always come back to that conclusion. That Little Miss Ashley can make such an unqualified statement tells me she hasn’t thought on it at all.

  5. Wait a minute; who is this “we” person? Does he have omnipotent powers to uninvent a whole class of technologies with no regard for human rights or the resourcefulness of criminals and tyrants? Does this Mr. We want people killing each other with fists, knives and stones instead of guns? But the same technology used to make knives can be used to make primitive firearms, and millions of other things used every day by billions of people.

John Gault has nothing on “we” apparently.

    Who is “we”?

    • Of course Mr. We doesn’t want us to use other tools to kill people. Mr. We also wants to ban knives, just like Mr. We is trying to do in the U.K. You could hurt yourself, for crying out loud! It’s too dangerous to have knives! Ban them.

  6. I’m just going to say it, I really like cheeseburgers.

What? That’s more meaningful than anything Ashley’s said.
