Quote of the day—Nightshade

Tyranny is never forced. It is an act of deliberate and mutual consent between ruler and subject. Refuse. Simple as that.

Comment to Refusal as a weapon. There is NO unconstitutional law that Mike Bloomberg can buy that we cannot nullify with armed civil disobedience.
[It’s not quite as simple as that. There are contingencies to plan for. And there may be consequences to deal with. But refusal is a powerful weapon. I do agree that in order for tyranny to succeed there must be a great deal of cooperation between the ruler and the subject.

And that means that every tiny refusal helps. Every tiny cooperation hurts.—Joe]

  1. Refusal can be used as a club against oppressor, but it is often more fun to use it as a rapier, sliding it in between their ribs and going right for the heart of the beast.

The failure to arrest protestors doing transfers of firearms at the I-594 protest was a rapier wound that will eventually lead to revocation of that law.

  2. Refusal does depend on effective tools to make that refusal stick. This is the purpose of the 2nd Amendment. Disarmed victims can refuse, and in some cases that refusal has worked (consider Gandhi). But that seems to be the exception rather than the rule.

  3. Tyranny is forced on the subject frequently. All it takes is depriving the subject of the means to resist or as in the case of Americans the will to resist. We are the most heavily armed society in history….and we voluntarily allow evil bastards to seize power and enslave us.
