Quote of the day—Rep. Dan Muhlbauer

We cannot have big guns out here as far as the big guns that are out here, the semi-automatics and all of them. We can’t have those running around out here. Those are not hunting weapons. We should ban those in Iowa.

The state of Iowa should take semi-automatic weapons away from Iowans who have legally purchased them prior to any ban that is enacted if they don’t give their weapons up in a buy-back program.

Iowa Lawmaker on ‘Semi-Automatic’ Firearms: ‘I Think We Need to Start Taking Them’
[Don’t ever let anyone get away with telling you no one wants to take your guns.

He may incoherent and possibly even hallucinating about guns with legs running down the streets. But his vote in the state legislature is worth thousands of times more than yours is in the ballot box.—Joe]

    • When the brat wants something stupid, horrible and dangerous done, it’s typically “We” who should do it. When there’s some credit to be taken after the fact, it’s “I” who did it, and when there’s blame, it’s either “We” or “They” who messed up. It’s simple math.

      • We see something similar on the job.

Remember, The Mgt. makes “decisions.” Only workers can make mistakes.

  1. Once again we see the false “hunting” or “sporting purposes” standard, whereas the second amendment is about the security of a free state. It’s an attempt to de-legitimize the gun as a tool of self defense and to ignore its militia purposes.

Hunting is all well and good, but the main reason for owning guns is the defense of human rights and liberty. The Enemy cannot afford to let this become the central issue in the discussion, and so they MUST make it about something unrelated like crime and accidents (where they still lose, but at least they don’t lose on principle) or Elmer Fudd and his wabbit gun.

Any time you allow yourself to become distracted by the crime & safety, or the Wabbit Gun arguments, you are helping the Enemy to change the subject.

It’s easy enough to lie about crime statistics, or to reinterpret them, or to say stupid things about the theoretical causes and effects on crime, but twisting a basic principle like liberty, or human rights, and the defense thereof, is quite another matter. It’s easy to make fun of Elmer Fudd, but much less easy to malign and impugn human rights and the defense of liberty.

Yeah, so I’ll keep my “Big Semi-auto” rifles and handguns for defense against crime and tyranny, and the zombies can go ahead and convince one another that I’m Elmer Fudd– All they do is make fools of themselves and of each other.

    • Well said Lyle.

Agreed, don’t let the sniveling little cowards switch to a minor subject. I will gladly put up with any small societal costs for accidents and suicides to maintain my ability to resist crime and insure against despotism. That a so-called “representative” calls for disarming me proves that I MUST have firearms to counter his evil intentions. Anyone who wants me disarmed is my enemy.

  2. If this buffoon is frightened by “big” firearms, my single-shot NEF Handi-rifle ought to terrify him, since it fires the. 500 Smith & Wesson Magnum cartridge….

  3. oh no big guns!
    I guess they’ve never heard of Remington 75x or 74xx semi-auto in .30-06 or .308?
