Quote of the day—Gerald Ensley

I’m not talking about gun control. I’m not talking about waiting periods and background checks.

I’m talking about flat-out banning the possession of handguns and assault rifles by individual citizens. I’m talking about repealing or amending the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Those of us who think widespread handgun ownership is insane need to keep speaking up. We need to teach our children handguns are wrong. We need to support any measure that limits their availability — and work to repeal the Second Amendment. We need to keep marching forward until someday this nation becomes civilized enough to ban guns.

One of the frequent refrains of gun freaks about President Obama is “He’s coming for our guns.” Obama never said such a thing. But I will:

We’re coming for your guns. And someday, we’ll take them.

Stop the insanity: Ban guns
[Via email from Carl Stevenson.

Never let anyone get away with telling you no one wants to take your guns.

And to Mr. Ensley, I would like to suggest you take point when you take those guns.—Joe]

  1. And this from a guy in the state that took the lead on Must Issue, and saw its violent crime rate drop like a rock as a result. But we all know that rational analysis and logic are not wanted in this crowd.

  2. Should he be using his 1st amendment right to instigate civil war?

The fact is he will never have the balls to come and get anyone’s firearms.
He just a little barking dog with no bite in him.

I agree, while at the same time pointing out that this was the very sort of thing the Jews were saying about the Nazis. “They’re just talking big” and so on, “No one is going to take them seriously. They’re just full of bluster”.

The little dog with no bite in him will be more than glad to chair the Ministry of Social Purity or whatever they end up calling it, where they make the plans for a Final Solution regarding the “gun owner problem”. Puny, ridiculous little men are always at the forefront of such things. It’s their one and only chance at making something of themselves, being really important. They rarely do much actual violence themselves, but they don’t need to.

  5. He may try to take them, and in the end may actually succeed. However he’ll get the Ammo first, and I can make more of that myself. Once the civil war starts, god help us all, because nothing will ever be the same again.

Read Matt Brackens Enemy’s trilogy. Matt describes how different things could be.

  6. I read this sort of blurb and think “why do they always use the royal we“? Why don’t they ever want to stake a personal claim? Why must they always demand that *someone else* will magically accomplish these things?
He is afraid. Afraid of inanimate objects. Afraid of independent people. Afraid of facts. Afraid of anything that he can’t control, anything that refuses to bow down to the omnipotent state.
It’s ironic – they are in such a constant state of fear about us, yet they are willing to put their name on their demands because they subconsciously know we are law-abiding and do not pose any real risk to him. He would never call out the local imam in the same way for hate-preaching of Islam…

    • They use the royal “we” because they presume themselves to the the anointed, benighted, “betters” who are entitled to rule over us and control every aspect of our lives as they steal our property.
