Quote of the day—Bill Whittle

And of all the promises broken by this man, surely none is more heartbreaking than the one promise that got him elected in the first place: the promise of a post-racial future. He and his progressive cohorts can never surrender the weapon that has gotten them everything, not the least of which is personal political power and trillions of dollars of redistributed wealth. And this latest outrage in Ferguson is yet another example – as if another was needed among the economic wreckage, creeping totalitarianism, and foreign-policy disasters — that he and his leftist cohorts would rather rule over ruins than disappear into the dustbin of history of a healthy and racially healed nation.

  1. I still think at the end he will declare martial law, suspend elections, usurp the power to disband Congress, and make himself king. THEN, we will see whether there are enough patriots among us to end him.

    • While President Zero might WANT to do that, I don’t think he’s got the intestinal fortitude to do so. He’s shown no desire to get rough, preferring soft tactics with low chances of pushback — and even those have blown back on him unpleasantly.

Worse, to try and king himself he needs the support of the military, and no matter how many generals he’s pushed out I don’t think he’s got that. The Bergdahl fiasco did him no favors there. Granted, he’s got the various federal goon squads, but they are still drastically outnumbered. As one infamous blogger notes, three percent resistance would derail the whole thing.

Getting back to Whittle, though, that quote is spot on. His declaration of a post-racial America actually impressed me, and for a time I believed him. I guess I WANTED to believe it, really. I wanted to see an America which was truly living by MLK’s credo about the content of character and not the color of skin. So much for that, I suppose. A con man will promise you anything if he thinks he can get your money that way.

    • I heard the same “he will suspend elections” prediction for both Clinton and Bush.

I thought it was possible with Clinton. I think it is unlikely with Obama.

      • Indeed. Let’s not mince words here. Obama is a clod. He’s the affirmative action president. He sure as hell didn’t get into office on his merits, instead carried by a mix of nice-sounding bromides and a media that would rather polish his knob than actually give him a hard look.

Ironically, this has come back to haunt him. He never seems to expect opposition — whether from specific people or from reality — and thus has no way to handle it. That’s why he’s fumbled repeatedly in foreign policy. He’s got no concept of ‘what if things go wrong?’.

        • He won’t do it, he’ll leave it up to his minions in the state media to attempt to scare the bejeebers out of the low information voters and the Democrat brand voters (but I repeat myself) so they will vote for the next leftist on line for President. His modus operandi has been from the start of his Presidency to make a speech and expect that to be all he has to do to make it so. In that regard he was, as George Seldes said about another socialist in the early 20th Century, at heart a journalist. All Obama really wants to do is stand on his balcony in Rome and make speeches to his adoring crowd.

          • Yet Reagan was widely villified as someone who could ONLY deliver a good speech.

Hell, even just looking at his oratory skills, Obama is a pale shade of a public speaker compared to Ronaldus Magnus. He doesn’t even noticeably edge out Bill Clinton in that regard. (And at least Clinton could be effective, when he chose to be.)

  2. Now, People, why do I need to keep reminding you all? YOU define “Post Racial” they same way the American Founders would have defined it, as “All Men are created equal, with certain unalienable rights” and so on. NO, Young Grasshopper! To the Anti-colonial, Black Liberation Theologist/Progressive, “Post Racial” would have to mean fewer white people, and more black and brown people in charge of things.

One of many, mentally disturbed, Progressive public school teachers once gave a little “lesson” in race relations. “Three men on a lifeboat. Two of them are white and one is black. There are limited resources. How do you best ensure survival and the harmony needed to survive? Get rid of the black man, of course. That way there’d be no racism in the equation.”

He actually said that, and it represents the Progressive brain quite well. THEIR idea of “ending racism” is to change what THEY SEE as the race makeup of the society.

YOU are using the language one way, yet THEY use it in a completely different way. Understand THAT and all this stuff fits, is consistent, and VERY predictable.

Obama in fact IS doing all he can to achieve a “Post Racial” America. They’re flying and bussing tens of thousands of “Brown” people into the country for one thing.

What do you THINK is their motivation? It is to weaken what THEY see as the white male-dominated, capitalist oppression of the rest of the world. They’re completely insane of course, but that is their way of thinking and their motivation.

The thing that gets to me is; we all knew this (or should have, for it was all right out in the open for all to see) before the ’08 election.

    • Obama is just a tool, of course, of the greater Progressive (i.e. incremental communist) cause. He is especially suited to serving a specific role with regard to “race relations” and their broader implications toward the on-going demoralization of America, and he is performing brilliantly. In that sense, his presidency has been a success.

  3. “That he and his leftist cohorts would rather rule over ruins than disappear into the dustbin of history of a healthy and racially healed nation.”

Milton! “Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven.” Of course we have to consider who it was who said it in “Paradise Lost.”

  4. Geodkyt, Reagan also was doing stuff behind the scenes, making decisions with regard to consequences, based on his vision of a great America populated with capable, responsible people. Our current President appears to have conflated his foreign policy with the strategy for winning Whack-a-Mole.
