Quote of the day—Thomas Massie

It is time for Congress to step in and stop the D.C. government’s harassment and punishment of law-abiding citizens who simply want to defend themselves.

Was the House Right to Block D.C.’s Gun Control Laws?
House Republicans green-lighted a budget rider that essentially nixes D.C.’s gun laws.

[It’s a good start. Now if we could somehow get Federal Prosecutors to file charges against the politicians involved in the conspiracy to deny people their specific enumerated right to keep and bear arms we would see a lot more progress.—Joe]

  1. Gun laws are counter intoitive..after all if you outlaw guns..of any type…only outlaws will have acces to said firearms! If you have a gun keep it locked up and uunloaded.I know from experiance my brother accidently shot and killed his best friend

    • I was willing to forgive “counter intoitive”, but you lost me at “uunloaded”.

Anyway, if a gun is locked away, what difference would it make, loaded or unloaded? I don’t lock up my gasoline can or my matches. Am I inviting arson? My kitchen knives are out in the open, completely accessible. Am I inviting a stabbing? Shall we discuss your power tools?

Why don’t we lock ourselves away in padded rooms and trust government to have us fed intravenously? You get out of bed and you’re taking a risk. You get into your car and drive, and you’re taking a risk vastly greater than if you had loaded guns all over your property. I know from experience my brother, since many people I’ve known have died in automobile crashes and none from gunshots.
