Quote of the day—Hillary Clinton

I believe that we need a more thoughtful conversation, we cannot let a minority of people — and that’s what it is, it is a minority of people — hold a viewpoint that terrorizes the majority of people.

Hillary Clinton On Gun Control: We Can’t Let ‘A Minority Of People’ Terrorize The Majority
[There you have it. She is coming out against the First Amendment, and freedom in general, as well as the Second Amendment. She doesn’t want you to even “hold a viewpoint” that she doesn’t like.

“Thoughtful conversation”? Somehow I don’t think she is planning on including gun owners in that “conversation”.

I suspect she is in close alignment with her husband Bill in that “we can’t be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans…”.

She should have moved to the USSR in the 1960’s. Her ideology would have fit right in and the world would have been a better place.—Joe]

  1. One statement to rule them all.

That is the same point I’ve been trying to get people to understand. She’s not only against the 2nd, with that she has came out fully against the 1st. Thought crimes are no longer a scenario from a book, but a full blown agenda. I wish I was smarter so I could effectively fight this crap and not just bitch about it in letters, emails and phone calls to… people that don’t listen.

  2. And, as is typical with leftists, she’s wrong on the merits. Pro-RKBA is in no way a minority viewpoint. But, of course, if you live in an enclave, a bubble, a no-go zone of like-minded minority members, you can be understood (if not excused) for holding the delusion that your views are held by the majority of your countrymen..

  3. She’s totally wrong about pro-freedom folks being a minority of Americans, but look at the contempt she shows for what she thinks is a minority. She reveals the lie that says Progressives are all about upholding the rights of minorities, “sticking up for the little guy”, etc.

    But we’ve known for a long time that Progressives are opposed to human rights, and only use minorities when doing so is convenient to furthering the authoritarian cause;

“The Smallest Minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.” – Ayn Rand

  4. Here I thought she was talking about practitioners of the “religion of peace”.

  5. What’s amusing to me (and by “amusing,” I mean “disturbing”) is how many media outlets are leaving out – intentionally or unintentionally – the most important part of the Hillary quote.

The headlines and Twitter feeds all quote her as saying, “We cannot let a minority of people terrorize the majority of people.”

Her actual quote, in context: “We cannot let a minority of people … hold a viewpoint that terrorizes the majority of people.”

There’s a HUGE difference, and I for one have zero doubt she meant exactly what she said. The statement is 100% wrong, on multiple levels, but she meant it. The question is, how is this not promoting “thoughtcrime”? More importantly, how the Hell is the media getting away with leaving out that vital context?

  6. Seems to me that the “elected” population is a “minority” of the “people”. They sure terrorize me. Maybe we should do something about *them*.

  7. “…we cannot let a minority of people — and that’s what it is, it is a minority of people — hold a viewpoint that terrorizes the majority of people.”

I quite agree, Mz. Clinton…now sit down and shut up…grown ups are talking.

  9. I wonder If I can get a sample of “We cannot let a minority of people … hold a viewpoint that terrorizes the majority of people.” as a ring-tone?
I doubt it could make me hate answering the phone any more than I do now, and someone who only knows the edited-for-public-consumption version might learn something.
We cannot let someone hold a viewpoint. Any word on dynamic rotational activity at any of the graves of Founding Fathers?

    • Preventing people from holding viewpoints you don’t like is the essence of socialism. It’s why there is no freedom of speech in Europe. There is only the pretense, right up to the point where you attempt to say something that the elite in power consider a “wrong opinion”.
