Quote of the day—AWR Hawkins

Senators Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), together with Representative Lois Capps (D-CA-Santa Barbara), are pushing legislation to allow families to petition a court to bar a “dangerous” individual from buying a gun and confiscate any guns said individual owns.

The legislation comes in response to Elliot Rodger’s May 23 attacks in which he stabbed three people to death, shot and killed three others, then tried to kill four more by running them down with his car.

Neither Senator nor Capps addressed the confiscation of knives or automobiles.

  1. And yet we know for certain one family that wouldn’t have acted in time was the one of Eliot Rodgers. By the time they were concerned about him he had already set in motion his plans for killing people.

Add a court summons and what do you think he’d do? Show Up? Or Go out and kill people?

  2. Any bill of this nature that’s introduced needs two amendments:

    1. In any case where the accusation is found to be without merit, the accuser needs to pay damages, in the amount of 10x the retail value of the confiscated firearms, or $50,000, whichever is more.
    2. In any case where the accusation is made and upheld by a judge and later found to be without merit, the accuser and judge must be subject to mandatory prosecution for conspiring to deprive a citizen of his civil rights.
