Quote of the day—Standing Wolf

The Constitution is a restraining order against the federal government. I’m not going to say a word about the effectiveness of restraining orders against criminals.

They make a very good point. And, of course, this subtly points out the necessity of the Second Amendment as a backup plan for dealing with governments/criminals.—Joe]

  1. Interesting. I wonder what the breakdown would be among the answers to the question “if a woman is about to be assaulted by someone whom she has a restraining order against, do you support the use of deadly force to protect herself?” in the gun owner/non-gun owner groups.

And I wonder if the fed.gov should be concerned about that.

  2. There are people whose mental system is so messed up that they believe it is never ok to use force in self defense, even against people who intend to kill you.
Eventually evolution will breed that out of the gene pool, but unfortunately that is a very slow process.

  3. This is a *really* great quote. What’s so wonderful about it is that it makes two analogies in one short sentence — both an analogy on the theoretical purpose of the two, and an analogy on their real world effectiveness.
