Courts around the country have overwhelmingly rejected gun lobby arguments that there is a right to carry hidden, loaded firearms in public.

Brady Center, Victims’ Families, Law Enforcement Urge Federal Appeals Court To Review and Reverse Ruling Invalidating Illinois Restrictions on Carrying Guns in Public
[There are very few battles which the Brady Campaign/Center have left to fight and only a small chance of winning them. Times change and it is time that the Brady’s changed with them. I would like to suggest they declare bankruptcy and close up shop or else start advocating for a cause with a greater chance of success like preventing sad puppies or something.—Joe]

  1. They may be technically right. But lawyers for gun-rights groups (as opposed to gun manufacturers, which is what they really mean when they say “gun lobby”) is a different issue. What the courts have NOT rejected is the founding fathers arguments, common-sense reading of the letter of the constitution, state constitutional wording, crime stats, and so-forth.

    • I don’t think it’s even technically correct. Based on decisions from Heller forward to the recent 9th circuit decisions, I’d be less kind and be inclined to characterize their assertion as a flat out lie … They have a LONG history of that tactic … The Big Lie.

      • Oh, I know they are lying. I’m just giving the CYA angle they’d likely blather on about if backed into a corner under oath on how they might, technically be, conceivably, sort-of-if-you-look-at-it-just-right, not lying.
