Quote of the day—New Yorkers Against Gun Violence

The NY SAFE Act included crucial and widely popular provisions like background checks on all gun purchasers, a prohibition on sales of assault rifles with certain characteristics, a ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines, and other measures.

Groups push for more gun control in NY
[“Widely popular” must have a different meaning in the alternate universe in which these people spend most of their time. In the real world a large number of Law Enforcement is Against NY Safe Act. If even law enforcement is vocal about opposing the law then the law is essentially pointless. Who is going to enforce it?

  1. “The NY SAFE Act included … a ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines”

A lie (did you expect otherwise?).

NY State banned “high-capacity” (over 10 round) magazines in 2000. The NY SAFE Act lowered that to 7 rounds.

The NY Safe Act did not ban “high-capacity” magazines. Rather, it made “low-capacity” magazines even lower.

  2. These people have mental problems.

I hope, for the sake of your joint health, that you have a keyboard macro memorized to this phrase.

  3. “If even law enforcement is vocal about opposing the law then the law is essentially pointless. Who is going to enforce it?”

You could probably guess what I’d say about that– cop training and cop screening simply needs to evolve with the times, you know; out with the old ways and all that. Audacity of Hope, Fundamental Transformation, etc., and here you are, standing in the way, hanging on to the old ways, trying once again to Gum Up The Works and hold back Progress.

Who are you to attempt to stifle other people’s dreams, aspirations and goals? What is wrong with you, Man? Is it the hate in your heart? Is this what you do after pulling the wings off all the butterflies you can find?

What gives you the right? Hmm? Why should you be tolerated at all, when the only thing you can do is criticize and insult those GOOD PEOPLE who are only trying to make things better for everyone? I think we’ve had about enough of you and all the other haters in the NRA.

I could go on and on with this drivel. I speak fluent communist, having learned it at a young age. Y’all just have to be ready for this deadly horseshit, ’cause it’s in your neighborhood right now, and it’s itchin’ to break out. It yearns to be “free”.

  4. Lyle,

You’re currently a resident of WA,right? How do I get in touch with you offline (at least, offline in comparison to a publically-accessible website like this one?)
