[“Widely popular” must have a different meaning in the alternate universe in which these people spend most of their time. In the real world a large number of Law Enforcement is Against NY Safe Act. If even law enforcement is vocal about opposing the law then the law is essentially pointless. Who is going to enforce it?

NY State banned “high-capacity” (over 10 round) magazines in 2000. The NY SAFE Act lowered that to 7 rounds.
The NY Safe Act did not ban “high-capacity” magazines. Rather, it made “low-capacity” magazines even lower.

You could probably guess what I’d say about that– cop training and cop screening simply needs to evolve with the times, you know; out with the old ways and all that.
