Quote of the day—Jean-Jacques Rousseau

Insults are the arguments employed by those who are in the wrong.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau
[This applies to those Markley’s Law attacks as well many other insults gun owners constantly endure as we protect our rights in public forums.

H/T to Emanuel Tchividjian for mentioning it in his post. H/T to ubu52 for her comment which lead me to Tchividjian’s post.-Joe]

  1. Mostly agree, but it doesn’t allow for merciless mockery. A tactic used rather…liberally…ahem…by the FreeFor. As is right and proper. Also approved of by He of the Luciferian Tribute.

OT, something I’ve wondered before, reminded of it by the 3D printer AR sent to Mother Jones (oh yeah, ba ha hahahahahahaha): I’ve heard of people using reddit for sales of firearms and related equipment. Never even been on reddit, but how likely is that to be infested with .gov?

  2. Rousseau is the original communist. He wrote that people exist to serve the state and that private property is the cause of murders and wars.

I prefer to quote others rather than Rousseau because I disagree with so much of what he wrote and believed in. However, as the quote above shows, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again.

“Personal insults are the last refuge of the intellectual coward.” ~Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.

“Personal insults are the last resort of exhausted minds”. ~Pat Buchanan

Insults are the last resort of insecure people trying to appear confident in their weak position. ~Pastor Rick Warren

Insults are the last refuge of the out-argued. ~Unknown

    • And an addendum…

The above quotes are why I don’t like the “Because Fxxk You, That’s Why” meme that floats around some of the gun blogs off and on.

While I understand and even agree with the sentiment, I believe it’s detrimental to our side and gives the anti-liberty types ammunition to use against us.
