Taking guns out of society
[We sometimes say that the anti-gun people must believe guns control people. Here is someone who explicitly says that.

Wow, if 10k murders make him that afraid of guns, he must really wet his pants over cars and doctors … Both of which kill FAR more people ever year than guns.
Gun don’t kill anyone at all.
So why doesn’t he show equal concern about guns controlling the agents of government that he’s inviting to run our affairs? I seem to recall some celebrity who also thought that “power flows through the barrel of a gun.” Mao something, I believe it was.

Let’s not forget, the Green River Killer, whom Joe might have an anecdote regarding, killed more people without firearms than that scum at Columbine High School and Newton Elementary School combined. And practically everyone is walking around with the means to repeat such a slaughter on his or her person RIGHT NOW.

What’s to stop the government that is powerful enough to take away ALL guns from continuing after the guns are gone? By assuming that human beings are not smart or mature or in control of themselves enough that they are easily “taken over” by inanimate objects, where does he find the faith to trust that the .gov officials will cease to exert power and control once nobody is able to fight back? They won’t. Basic human nature means that those who would do what is necessary and then step down will either a) be replaced by those who crave the power or b) not run for office in the first place.

Repeat a lie enough times, with enough confidence, and it gets accepted. Interestingly, it seems to be the really big, shocking lies that are accepted most readily. The blatant, shocking truth is the only antidote– the pro liberty advocates (if that is what they are) almost always fail in that regard, choosing instead to water the truth down in an attempt to make it more palatable. That only demonstrates that we ourselves, a) are often afraid of the truth, and b) do not understand the power of audacity though it stares us in the face and defeats us on a regular basis.

“Edgar Chavez” looks to be a straw man. Giving straw men any column-inches gains us no converts among thinkers, Joe.
You potentially know more about him than I do. I “gave him column-inches” here because he was published there and his thought processes matched something we have been claiming existed for a long time.
My gun must be defective as it is on my hip right now and I have no more than the usual amount of homicidal rage in me. Perhaps I should sue the manufacturer due to my gun’s lack of control over me.
