Quote of the day—Emily Miller

The entire public discussion of gun control issues today is dominated today by terms created by the people who want to chip away at Americans Second Amendment rights. Anti-gun activists invented these phrases:

  • Assault weapons
  • High capacity magazines
  • Cop killer bullets
  • Universal background checks
  • The gun show loophole
  • High power ammunition

Not one of these terms actually means what President Obama, Mayor Bloomberg, and their allies mean to suggest by it. Rhetorical deception is the key component in the push for more gun control laws.

[In other words, they know they cannot win unless they use deception.

If you ignore the adrenaline dumps and the blood pressure spikes this is a very, very good book. It’s easy to read and very informative. Even though I have been involved in the fight for nearly 20 years I still learned things from it. Read it and encourage your friends to read it.—Joe]

  1. You are correct but Saturday Night Special hasn’t been used for a while. Ms. Miller probably hasn’t run across it since she became involved.

  2. “Saturday Night Special hasn’t been used for a while.” More recent: “junk gun.” Dr. Wintemute, I presume?

    Also…

Definition of “assault weapon”? CA has tried 3 times. Best definition — Humpty Dumpty to Alice in Lewis Carroll’s “Through the Looking Glass”:

“When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean…”

    Also

My vote for “worst on list”: “high power ammunition.” 223 is “high power ammunition” but cannot be used for deer hunting in many places because…not enough power! Best definition of “high power ammunition”: ammo used by guns I want to ban.

  3. The most uninformed, inexperienced, and ignorant people are the same ones that strive continuously to outlaw these things and firearms in general. No matter what your attitude is related to gun ownership, everyone needs to admit that having the horribly ignorant politicians crafting these laws is inexcusable.

Since their stupidity exceeds that of the village idiot they should stop writing laws on a subject that they know nothing about. (See examples of CA representative Leland Yee, Diane Feinstein, Carolyn McCarthy, Michael Bloomberg, POTUS, and wait for it…Joe “two blasts in the air” Biden).
