Quote of the day—Myrddin

Gun control advocates have offered capitulation couched as ‘reasonable demands’ for far too long. If the pro-gun lobby is going to resist any significant restriction on guns, then we should put on the table the very thing they fear most.

We need to start far more drastic measures if we are going to save our children and ourselves.

It is far past time to call for a total ban on guns.

Forget the assault weapons ban, it’s time to ban guns completely

  1. Here’s a question for Joe: When I go to linked articles like this, I commonly find that the comments run about 10:1 against the idiocy proposed, unless the link is to a NY Times article. I suppose selection bias could drive supporters of gun control to only read and comment on a limited number of websites, and supporters of self-defense rights to only read and comment on posts as egregiously ignorant as ones like the linked post here. But it seems more likely to me that there really are more people pro-gun than anti-rights based just on comment threads to many, many posts like this.

When even the Brady campaign’s Joan Peterson has a blog where there are only a handful of commenters agreeing with her, and the vast majority of comments disagreeing with her, I have to wonder what the actual level of support is for such nonsense.

      • With so many people opposed, how is it we (The People, endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights) keep getting zoomed with regards to our liberty interest?

        • Because our choices are undermined by the politicians we vote for.

We can vote for the person saying flat out they’re going to ban guns or we can vote for the other person. Who may or may not then go on to support liberty.

The trend of both parties is anti-liberty so we never really reverse the flow.

Yes. Let them be loud and proud about their desire to ban and confiscate all the guns. Such will be the death of the anti-gun movement for good.
