We usually think of it terms of incorporation doctrine, but;
Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
Just sayin’. Now I know the times and the environment in which it was passed, but read the words. As an amendment to the construction they were meant for all times and all environments. They say what they say, and nothing different, and there’s been a whooole lota rebellin’ and insurrectin’ goin’ on out der.
It isn’t a rebellion, it isn’t treason, if your side wins.
Ostensibly yes, but there is an objective reality which says the constitution and founding principles are under assault, no matter how many excellent lies are concocted to redirect our attention from it.
Looks to me like the recently recalled politicians in Colorado should be officially recognized as unfit for future public office – ’cause you just know they are going to run again.
