Quote of the day—Charles Krauthammer

Sarah Brady is doing God’s work. Yes, in the end America must follow the way of other democracies and disarm.

[This was nearly 20 years ago and some people still believe this. What they don’t seem to grasp is that totalitarian societies are much more likely to be disarmed than democracies. Either that or they yearn for a totalitarian society and wish to enable it.—Joe]

  1. Not God’s work, how about the devil’s bidding.

Where in the Bible do you find the slaughter of innocents approved of by God? Maybe that little commandment about “Thou shalt not murder” should be a little hint that God does not like evil.

Uncivilized societies are those where the serfs huddle in fear from highwaymen and robbers steal from them with impunity and the kings oppress them.

We fought the Revolutionary war to be free of a despotic government. Never forget that we can do it again.

  2. Agree with Braden Lynch. If you’re going to quote “God’s Work”, you should probably read the Bible, not just assume that since Jesus was generally a peaceful fellow, He wasn’t a pacifist hide-in-your-closet kind of guy. Read the Old Testament, too…following the 10 Commandments (one of which has been reinterpreted as “thou shall not *kill*” in the past, versus the original Hebrew which translates to “murder”), God sent His people out to not only found their own country, but to destroy (completely and utterly) the pagan nations around them. God does care about self-defense.
