Quote of the day–U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman

If someone is so fearful that they are going to start using their weapons to protect their rights, it makes me very nervous that these people have weapons at all.

U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman

Supposedly from MSNBC Investigates report on The .50 Caliber Militia
[I haven’t been able to verify the quote so if someone finds that it is bogus let me know.

If someone is using weapons to protect their rights Waxman wants to take them away? Then he has a lot in common with the KKK (see “No Guns for Negros”). The only conclusion I can draw from this is that Waxman has plans to infringe the rights of the people and he wants to avoid resistance.—Joe]

  1. That’s a good argument. Neil Smith has made it in a number of different ways. A simple one is: if a candidate doesn’t trust you to be armed, is it wise to trust him with power over you? Another one: the purpose of the 2nd amendment is to keep politicians in line. The fact that they uniformly hate it is proof that it works.

  2. For any pol from the Left who actually thinks the leftist-utopian dream out to it’s illogical conclusion, the necessary concept of indoctrinating/converting those last few conservatives HAS to be considered. During that consideration, Liberty must be discarded and totalititarianism substituted. Of coure, in that chain of thought, citizen disarmament becomes necessary.

    What we are seeing here is the second big push towards the Socialist Paradise. The first push, by FDR,brought us the 1934 NFA, and this push is intended to finish FDR’s start. So, it isn’t “gun control” that’s being considered, it’s complete disarmament.

    We should be glad there are guys like Waxman spilling the beans on this leftist conspiracy to toss out our Constitution, and we need to listen patiently to all of them, not shout them down. If there is any chance of aborting the leftist conspiracy, the resistance must have vital intell.

    • Rivrdog; You touched upon The Issue. Back in the 1980, a defector from the Soviet Union, former KGB operative Yuri Bezmenov laid it all out very clearly. It was his job. Listen very carefully;

  3. Was,an did say that … I can’t find the original video, but in know for a fact he said it because I saw and heard those exact words come out of the asshat’s mouth.

  4. “If someone is using weapons to protect their rights Waxman wants to take them away?”

    You read it this way while I see the qualifier “If someone is so fearful” as being the reason for using weapons, not that their rights are actually being taken away. Using a weapon because you are afraid is totally different than using a weapon because something is actually happening.

    I’m afraid of anyone who would use a weapon out of fear. I would hope that you are too.

    • Eesh. OK, Little Darlin’, if you’re being actively attacked, you may be one of the rare few who doesn’t have the slightest tinge of fear, but either way, fear or no fear, that gun needs to come out and you need to do some shootin’. Let’s call it “concern” then if makes you feeeel better about it;

      “If someone is so concerned that they are going to start using their weapons to protect their rights, it makes me very nervous that these people have weapons at all.”

      He’s a socialist, socialists by definition are opposed to human rights, people are concerned about it, and their concern makes him nervous so he wants to disarm them. That’s perfectly normal for a socialist. Every one of them who ever lived has believed the same way.

      Are you afraid of anyone who would attempt to legislate out of nervousness? And you yourself say you are “afraid”. Maybe it is you who should concern us.

      Waxman is nervous over citizens with guns, you’re afraid of people who are afraid WHILE THEIR RIGHTS ARE UNDER ATTACK, but you’re not afraid of people who come right out and say they are nervous while advocating laws that violate rights.

      Seems to me you’d have some concern, or outright fear, of people who say they’re legislating from a position of nervousness. A few hundred people in congress have the power to do far more damage than a hundred million people who are fearful of having their rights violated.

      How about leaving people alone and not trying to socially engineer them? Then no one will need be concerned, feel nervous, or have fear. Wouldn’t that be something?
