  1. Would you be opposed to someone making that into an actual survey, such as surveymonkey or similar? I’d really be interested in seeing such a thing go viral on FB or twitter.

    • Indeed.

It’d also be interesting to see if a majority finds that “in [their] best, purely logical assessment,” Congresscritters like Schumer and Feinstein (and dozens/hundreds of others at the state and local level) are aiding America’s enemies by supporting domestic policies that said enemies would approve of, but American citizens don’t.

      • Archer; I thought the same thing, but left it up to the readers to come to that most serious point on their own. You didn’t disappoint.

Obviously, the American Founders were thinking exactly in those terms.

      • Anyone proposing (much less trying to ramrod through) legislation that goes directly against, or tries to “reinterpret” or limit any part of the Constitution and/or Bill of Rights should be brought up on charges of treason. And for simplicity sake, just hold the trial out at the brick wall behind the courthouse. Perhaps the pockmarks and stains on the wall behind the accused’s chair will convince them that We The People actually have read, understand, agree with, and fully support the above documents.

    • I know. I can anticipate the reply; “How can you speak of your old-fashioned, patriarchal abstractions like logic and reason while our kids are dying…? You’re hiding behind these abstractions! You coward! You bastard!”

It wouldn’t be so articulate, but that’s the general idea.

      • And you counter:
But hate is an emotion. Abstractions are by definition not emotional. So, there is no way I can hate while using logic and abstractions. Only you, with your emotionally driven rhetoric, can be a hater. I apply principles, and find out what works, while your hatred drives you to simply attempt to control and destroy that which you do not properly understand.
So what’s it like to be such an illogical hater?

        • “Ah ha!” says the Dark Side. “Just as I thought! You are revealing your cold-heartedness, and in your paternal, Western colonialist cold-heartedness you are being cruel.”

We are told to “trust our feelings” and to “follow our dreams” and what after all is being human if not being guided by our emotions and dreams? Hmm? “Here you come along and propose heartless reasoning, unfeeling calculation, and in so doing you are seeking to deny the very essence of our humanity.”

The jihadist would simply say that Allah says it should be a certain way and that’s that. All your “reasoning” and all your assertions of various “rights” are mere, man-made abstractions that have no validity under the commandments of Allah. So shut up and die, Infidel!

Either way you lose (in the mind of the dark side) which is why Progressives, communists, the race obsessed, “anti colonialists”, and the proponents of “Critical Theory” have aligned themselves with Islamists.

    • Using facts, logic and/or reason in a discussion with a “liberal” is now considered a hate crime.

      • Yup. It’s insane, right? And to quote myself shamelessly;
“when you take an irrational position and hold that it is rational, when you look at sane people and consider them insane, when you look at justice and consider it injustice, when you take on the victim mentality and blame the self sufficient, then slowly but surely, reason and sanity themselves become your enemies, and insanity your friend, for reality makes you face your faults and insanity protects you from facing them.”

        It doesn’t end well.

      • A while back, I saw someone (PJ O’Rourke maybe) say “Facts are not mean, they’re facts”. It almost makes me wish I had libs in these parts to refute them with things said by smarter folk than I. Wait. No it doesn’t.

  2. There needs to be a 5th question:

In your best logical assessment, do you find yourself thinking the same things that
    America’s enemies do?
