Quote of the day—Billll

Sen. Morse is proud of his accomplishments and has said that if they cost him his job then it’s still worth it. He has the mindset of a suicide bomber.

Comment to Senator Says MAIG Should “Fold It Up”
[His accomplishment was to pass a repressive and unconstitutional anti-gun owner law.

It’s trivial to imagine scenarios where his actions kill more people than any one suicide bomber has ever killed. Senator Morse should be held accountable for his actions. He lost his job but he should be arrested and put on trial for violation of civil rights under the color of law.—Joe]

  1. It’s worth remembering that 9/11 was made possible by disarming the victims (the ones on the planes). So was the Aurora massacre, which these characters used as the excuse to do even more disarmament.

  2. Deprivation of rights under color of law. Is there a statute of limitations on that? There’s no statute of limitations on treason, so Obama could end up facing that one for the rest of his life, but I don’t know about deprivation of rights under color of law.

  3. That does bring up a huge problem that we’re going to have to tackle. That is the fact that we can get rid of turd politicians all we want, but their excrement in the form of legislation remains behind, mucking up our legal system and threatening the republic.

It’s been said that for a politician to justify his existence, he must make more laws, he must expand his scope, and so the problem of legislative cruft and outright tyranny is ever-expanding.

I say “No!” I say that one can just we well, far better actually, justify his existence by making a business of repealing laws. Hundreds of entire careers can be sustained in this way, and for generations to come. What we have now, with our thousands and thousands of pages of smelly, festering legislative crap, is a gigantic opportunity, for the right sort of legislator. One could expand one’s office and scope by appointing various Repeal Committees– armies of fact-finding researchers, digging up laws to be repealed, and so on.

I have a dream, that one day, every politician, from small town mayor to the president of the united states, will have his Repeal Advisor at his side at all times, and choosing a Repeal Advisor will be a vital component to any campaign.

    • Lyle, right on!

We need term limits to stop these clowns from parking their butts in Congress until they die. This way they ahve to live under the laws they pass.

Every law should have a sunset date along with a rule that they cannot do blanket mass renewals. Rather, they have to individually vote for them to be renewed again, without changes. A lot of them would fall by the wayside as special interests lose favor or power.

Finally, a very brief legislative session, or two, punctuated by long periods of time in which legislators must reside in their district and hold regular office hours (this would have to be determined). I believe that Texas does this. Basically, it is hard to cause mischief if you are not in session. Provisions for emergency recalls would have to be provided.
