Quote of the day—Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America

From the outset, this recall was designed as a tool of intimidation funded by the gun lobby. What a ridiculous temper tantrum by a bunch of bullies – moms know them when we see them.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA RESPONDS TO COLORADO RECALL ELECTION RESULTS
[It’s called psychological projection.

“Moms” were the bullies (by proxy) in this political battle. They supported anti-freedom laws that drove many millions of dollars worth of business out of the state, made criminals out of innocent people, violated the specific enumerated rights of millions of people, and cost million of people countless hours and dollars in their battle to remove some of the law makers who implemented the illegal laws. Those are the actions of bullies. Not the innocent people who just want to be left alone.

In addition to the recall elections being successful we now have the opportunity to give Mayor Bloomberg some investment advice. If you want to get a return on your money in politics invest in the NRA. MAIG got nothing in return for the hundreds of thousands they spent.

It’s all good news but as I saw in one Tweet, I’m a little sad that we’re not following through with the traditional tar and feathers.—Joe]

  1. Its a great day. I love to see them spin this.

I think the key lesson to take away is we have the grassroots and the ability to win. But we can’t be complacent. We need to take this into 2014. Time to pull out all the stops and ensure gun control is dead for another 20 years.

  2. These are the moms who would say “Oh no. My little Lucifer is a good boy…Satan is just a cute nickname. I’m sure he didn’t mean it.”

  3. “Fortunately, the recalls do not impact the new gun laws signed into law earlier this year by Gov.
Hickenlooper. The Colorado state legislature did the right thing by passing common-sense gun laws,
requiring background checks for all gun buyers and limiting magazines to 15 rounds. This recall doesn’t
change those laws – laws that will continue to protect Colorado familiesfrom senseless gun violence. ”

That’s some VERY wishful thinking right there. Hickenlooper is living on borrowed time, and I suspect the candidate who wins the Governor’s race will be the one campaigning to repeal these laws….if the legislature doesn’t double-back and repeal their very own law to protect their careers.

Also “Bully”? So is a Boss a bully if he pulls me into his office and tells a failing employee that they need to do a better job or find a new place to work?

Recalls are VERY difficult to do, given that you need to first get the signatures to initiate the vote, but then convince a majority of people who voted FOR this person to vote AGAINST this person.

To accomplish this you essentially need what happened in Colorado, a bunch of elected officials ignoring their constituents over the desires of outside influences.

    • On the boss/employee analogy and the difficulty of recalls:

It’s like trying to terminate a union-represented employee. They have to screw up so seriously and egregiously that HR is willing to fight the union, and their on-the-job behavior has to be so indefensible that the union won’t stick up for them.

  4. It’s as transparent as empty space;
When Progressives attack liberty, it’s common sense. When we attempt to preserve liberty, it’s mean, childish bullying.

  5. I would also point out that this looks a bit like a War On Women. I mean, if we are to view this sort of irrational, dangerous, anti-liberty behavior as the sort of things we can expect when women are in charge, it makes women look insane, like they should be kept away from the levers of political power.

I suppose the Progressives would view it as a delectible, deliciously evil play. What better way to degrade society than to turn the image of motherhood into something predatory and disgusting?

    • Commie porn in this case, for sure– The wet dreams of collectivists who long for revenge against the thinking, creative, productive, independent human spirit. In a way I suppose you could say they’re whores. They’re whores for those who would enslave us, and them. “Moms who demand government action (in opposition to the individual)” doesn’t have that movie title ring to it, but it’s far more accurate.
