Quote of the day—Barb L.

Meh.

Maybe I’m getting spoiled but one stunning view looks pretty much like another.

We walked over 11 miles, at altitudes from 6000 to 8000 feet, looking at stunning view after stunning view.

It was a pretty awesome way to spend the weekend.—Joe]

  1. Did you take the Panorama Trail? Amazing bit o scenery for this flatlander. Also, I see that the MFM are wigging ou that fire is “threatening” the Giant Redwoods. And these people are supposed to be our betters, esp on environmental issues. Sigh. Anyway, glad you got to enjoy being there!

  2. If you get the chance, the hike (yes, hike, not climb) to the top of Half Dome is worth the day. Spectacular views and waterfalls all the way, no climbing equipment needed. My 60-year-old Mom did it in tennis shoes; I’ve done it in Tevas.

    • Half dome is by permit only now and permits are allocated by lottery.

We only had about 1.25 days in the park so we tried to hit numerous things in the short time we had.

  3. You are actually spending time in anti-gun California? Well, I’ll be damned….

    • It wasn’t just a pleasure trip. There were compelling reasons to go and we worked in a bit of pleasure.

Otherwise I would have continued my boycott of the repressive regime there.
