No matter how much the advocates of gun control get, it will never be enough.

  1. That’s what the appeasers, the advocates of compromise, those who ridicule adherence to principles, never understand. Or they do understand and they’re too cowardly or too evil to admit it.

In appeasing the enemy (but I have to stop right there because to call a person or a group “the enemy” is considered by the appeasing mind to be irresponsible and counterproductive, and so it is near impossible to talk about this stuff. I’ll try again).

An excellent example is that of Prime Minister Chamberlain and his ilk in England. In appeasing the rising power in Germany, in even dealing with that power at all, they nourished it, giving it credence, encouraging it, and in so doing they ultimately created a worse version of the very war they were trying to avoid. Not long after the famous and highly applauded “Peace in Our Time” speech, London was on fire.

So it is in dealing with anyone, or any group, or any philosophy that would deny or call into question the principles of liberty and individual sovereignty.
