As Lyle has pointed out many times before the left has their “shall not be infringed” issue with abortion. Michael Z. Williamson has an elaborated version of that which I cannot find fault with.

The point being of course that the left understands fully how a right should work. It’s just that they don’t care. They’ll use the system anyway they can, and if it is in their interest to pretend to uphold “rights” they’ll do it with a flourish. If the concept of rights doesn’t fit the issue of the day, well then, the constitution is old, and was written by dead white paternalistic slave owners who could never have understood the complexities of our modern times don’t you know.
