Quote of the day—Sebastian

Gun control advocates really do not understand the fire they are playing with, with much of what is being proposed. How many millions of Americans are you prepared to imprison? How many are you prepared to kill? What is the count of ruined lives, broken families, and ruin are you willing to inflict to try to achieve your rainbow farting unicorn utopia where every gun turns into a flower? Widespread disrespect for the law by millions of Americans is not going to bring that about, and in fact, may only serve to create larger unregulated markets, and far more willingness to engage in law breaking people would not be willing to engage in under normal circumstances.

Gun Control Requires Our Willing Compliance
[Another way to look at this is that people generally “play by the rules” as long as the rules are reasonable and the other side plays by the rules as well.

If the rules are unreasonable and/or the other side does not play by the rules people get angry and have a strong tendency to ignore the rules. They “play” rough and play to win by any means possible. The new New York State “rules” for gun owners are completely unreasonable. They were pushed through without input from those most affected and are a gross violation of the Second Amendment “rule”.

The other side in this political contest shouldn’t push us so far that we decide to play to win by any means possible. They wouldn’t like us when we get angry.—Joe]

I submit that, if the other side does not play by the rules, then they are not really rules at all. They are edicts, reeking of aristocracy.

    Furthermore, from the original quote:

How many millions of Americans are you prepared to imprison? How many are you prepared to kill? What is the count of ruined lives, broken families, and ruin are you willing to inflict to try to achieve your rainbow farting unicorn utopia where…

When it comes to our betters in government deciding it’s high-time to tell us we can’t have something, you could really finish the above sentence with anything. Guns, drugs, the Winter X-Games, etc.; the moment the .gov says You Cannot Have This, there is a virtual guarantee that someone, somewhere, will be killed – legally, of course – in pursuit of the enforcement of said edict. In many cases, the dead need not ever have run afoul of the law in the first place.

  3. One of the things that actually will help our side is the FACT that 99% of the Liberal Political Elite have never been in Combat, have never been in a Resistance Cell during a Civil War, and most of them have no Frackin’ Idea how a Gun Works! In fact, the closest they ever come to a Firearm is when they Brush Up against one of their Bodyguards, or the watch a Military Color Guard march by in a Parade for their Honor!

Do you realize that Obama has more time at the White Board diagraming Saul Alinsky’s “Rule for Radicals” than he has Trigger Time?

But God Help Us All if a REAL Street Commie like Che or Joe Stalin ever gets in Charge.

Right now, all we have is a Bunch of Whining Liberals passing Laws that they KNOW won’t work, but does give them the Power to send out their Goon Squads to attack the Serfs who DARE to Oppose them, all the while sitting Safe in their Tax Payer Funded Offices and Homes, with THEIR Armed Guards protecting them from the Riff-Raff!

    • Well until we really get cranky anyway and then their homes and offices might not be as safe as they thought.

  4. Libtards that voted for these politicians don’t get free bodyguards. This will go bad fast once the feds make this a life and death thing.

  5. Some time ago, in a discussion of white hat vs. black hat hackers, I said, “If you’re going to _force_ me to choose a hat, it damned sure ain’t going to be white…”

Seems like the same argument applies here.

  6. In John Ross’s “Unintended Consequences” a recurring theme was, “After the first one, the rest are free.” Meaning, if you’re already going to get arrested for a felony (e.g., possessing a standard capacity mag, planting a pot bush, not buying carbon offsets for your 10 mpg Ford F150), you might as well make it worth your while.

There are thousands of people with the skills and equipment needed to build an AK-47 from a kit. There are thousands of these kits squirreled away in garages and shops. Up until now, it’s been completely legal, as long as you included the required number of US parts to assure it wasn’t classified as an illegal import. These guns, and the kits they’re built from, are unserialized and off the books. If they became illegal, why bother putting in the US parts? In fact, why bother building them as semi-autos? Net result of an “assault weapons” ban in this case is to put MORE machine guns on the street.

Anybody that can buy washers, pipe, and stainless steel pot scrubbers can build a suppressor. To do it legally requires fingerprints (although there’s a way around that), local LEO approval, a Federal background check, and photos. Oh, and a $200 tax stamp. Many of us have jumped through those hoops to own a legal suppressor. If you’re already building an illegal, unserialized machine gun, hey, why not put an illegal suppressor on it?

And if you’re going to go to jail anyway because some lib passed a law with no thought about the unintended consequences of her act, and the opportunity arises to thin the herd……

For years, gun rights folks have discussed the slippery slope of gun control – registration, then confiscation, etc.

The gun controllers need to be made aware that for every ridge, there are two intersecting slopes. The backside of that gun control slope may become very slippery too. Blood is extremely slippery.

  7. That’s right… Keep Poking the Penguin….
    http://www.gamesville.com/media/poke-the-penguin.htm

I heard it postulated somewhere that .gov is trying to get the penguin to break, so they can have their Fort Sumpter/Gulf of Tonkin/Pearl Harbor*/Twin Towers* to justify more direct aggressive action. The mass media spoon-feeders sure as hell won’t give accurate details if something happens.

*For those who ascribe to the ‘If .Gov wasn’t involved, they least knew about it before hand’ theories…

  8. Joe, you asked, “What is the NEXT Civil Right to fall after the Second Amendment?” Geraldo Rivera answered your question tonight on his Fox News TV program: it will be the First and Fourth Amendments, notably the Fourth.

Said Geraldo, “I want National Stop and Frisk”

    It’s beginning.

  9. The fundamental difference between them and us is that we think they are stupid, and they think we are evil. Thinking we are evil justifies, in their minds, all the offenses and abuses they heap on us.
It’s been a good thing that this division existed, though, for a long time. I say that because when we think we have confronted evil, we destroy it. We did it in a World War. We did it in the Cold War. We were prepared to do it with nuclear fire. We’ve done it in atomic fire to defeat the evil Japanese Empire. We risked destroying our own country to stamp out the evil of hereditary slavery, and damn near did it again over Jim Crow.
When we finally realize that they aren’t stupid, we will be left with evil. And that is when the right will band together and destroy the left. I honestly don’t know what sort of country we will be after that.
