That’s the problem isn’t it, right at the end of that video?
It acknowledges that we have to tell our representatives to do the right thing. Otherwise it is generally understood that they won’t do the right thing. Even if we tell them to do the right thing, it is understood that there is little chance they will do it.
And so, instead of doing the right thing and gaining support that way, the Republicans have to ask us for money that they will then use to bullshit us. If all they did was do the right thing, they wouldn’t need our money, because they wouldn’t need to bullshit us into voting for their dumb asses. We would see that they were doing the right thing and we’d vote for them on that basis.
