So which one of them is going to volunteer to “bell the cat”, and make us shut up?

I have been reading comments on a popular website, Reddit.com, regarding a subject completely dissociated from 2nd Amendment rights. The comment thread that captured my interest was one in which Sarah Palin was cursed in horrible, hatefully sexist and intolerant terms for expressing an opinion. No effort was expended reiterating her opinion’s foundation, support, or exposition. It was a vile hatefest against her.
Some commenters pointed out the moral equivalence of spewing hate at her, compared with her opinions, considered hateful and intolerant by the hate-spewers. The overwhelming response was that the leftist hate-spewers were in the right, and Palin’s opinion was so wrong that no tolerance of her having a difference of opinion could be, well, tolerated. In other words, hate the b—ch because she’s a hater. And don’t apologize.
There is no way to overcome this type of attitude, also expressed in the quote posted, except to apply a swift kick to the person’s crotch and tell them in no uncertain terms to stop misbehaving. If anyone has a better method of dealing with this attitude, please let me know.
I guess this shows how reciprocal “I may disagree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it” is now that the shoe appears to be on the other foot, to resurrect a tired metaphor.
