Quote of the month—U.S. District Court Judge Benson Everett Legg

A citizen may not be required to offer a ‘good and substantial reason’ why he should be permitted to exercise his rights. The right’s existence is all the reason he needs.

[This is absolutely HUGE!!!

Ruling here.

Who wants to donate to the Tequila fund for the new Brady Campaign President?

I’ll donate a $0.10 to the Brady’s for Tequila and $100 to SAF to keep the Brady Campaign crying into their booze.—Joe]

Update: As George R. on the gun email list at work said after he donated $50.00, “Take that Sarah Brady!”

  1. “citizen may not be required to offer a ‘good and substantial reason’ why he should be permitted to exercise his rights. The right’s existence is all the reason he needs.”

And that goes for all of ’em, not just the RTKABA.

  2. I was trying for a good snark, referencing the disparity between the murder rates in DC and the neighboring states, but that’s too hard for a Monday AM. I’ll have to wait for Tam for that.
In the meantime I’ll have to content myself with seconding Robert’s observation, as he is correct in his observation that it goes for Free speech, Freedom of the Press, Peaceable Assembly, to be secure in one’s dwelling and papers, against Self-incrimination, and really everything that has NOT been expressly delegated to the Federal Government as an enumerated power.

  3. $250 in to SAF from me today. I needed to renew my membership anyways. 🙂

  4. Two cents for the Brady’s Tequila fund. Here’s hoping they can only afford that nasty Wally*Mart brand Tequila. That should kill off their few remaining brain cells.

$20 for SAF tonight! Although they’re certainly welcome put it toward a well-deserved Single Malt Scotch, I’m hoping they will use it to bring some rationality to Kali CCW laws.

    Thanks SAF! YeeHaw!

  5. How do we get the next president to nominate this guy to the Supreme Court?
