Quote of the day—Kelsey Leal

I come from a family of liberals. We believe that people that don’t work should live better lives than those that do.

[Kelsey is my soon to be daughter-in-law.

This was in response to me giving her a bit of a hard time about not even recognizing the name of the Cato Institute. When I explained it was a Libertarian think tank part of her response was the quote above. It achieve the desired results. I was speechless.

She says she was joking—mostly.—Joe]

  1. Perfect example of that. The people I rent a room from have an income of $3,000 a month. The house is paid off, they don’t work, and collect SSI disability. They shop at the most expensive grocery store in town and drive a new to them 2008 GMC Acadia that has just been financed for seven years. Oh, the reason I live with them, They need my rent money to pay the real estate taxes. I could go into even more detail, but it’s depressing.

  2. (_Really_ long message deleted, you’re welcome 😉

Dunno about the SSI thing… but real estate -is- work.

  3. My wife was a Chicago South Side Irish liberal Democrat until reality took hold and I was there to reinforce the blossoming ideas she started to have. Libertarianism happens when you are paying attention.

  4. I am impressed. That is quite possibly one of the most offensive things I’ve ever heard.
