Quote of the day—Donna Davis

There are too many guns around already; we don’t need more, and in a public place like that, I’d like to feel safe if I’m going to the park. If there’s a gun there, I don’t want to be there.

Local Governments Have Until Oct. to Remove Gun Control Laws
[And just how many is too many? I suspect all she knows is that there is more than zero and that is too many for her. If that is the case then Ms. Davis needs to move to a different country because in this country what she wants is clearly unconstitutional.

It’s no different than her saying, “There are too many mixed race couples and blacks around already; we don’t need more, and in a public place like that, I’d like to feel safe if I’m going to the park. If there’s a black person there, I don’t want to be there.”

Ms. Davis, since you don’t even know how many guns are “around” yet you spout off like that anyway you must have crap for brains. And since you want to infringe upon a specific enumerated right you should move to some country which doesn’t recognize the natural right to keep and bear arms. You don’t belong here so rather than whine about it just move. We all will be happier for it.—Joe]

  1. Interesting that this is in Tallahassee, Florida, where local gun laws are explicitly illegal per state law. Do you think they’d give the other side a voice if the local government passed an illegal law banning Black people from the park?

  2. The only way to deal with these people is by the use of reductio ad absurdum. First, ask her how many police officers she would be OK with in her park. Then ask her why those properly trained and equipped may not supplant/replace the police, then explain to her that this is what the peaceful armed community already gives her. If she can’t accept it, she’s failed to accept logic and may be dismissed as a garden variety whacko, and thank you, no, but we aren’t accepting opinion from whackos today, try back later please.

  3. Wow! There are too many guns around?? This calls for a re-distribution of firearms!

I don’t “feel” that my two long guns are nearly enough. I think that someone should send me a couple of 1911 .45 ACP a .223 or two, a Remington 700 in .308 and maybe a Saiga 12…

Is there a program to collect these “too many” guns and settle them in new homes?

Waddayamean too many guns is any guns?

You mean “too many” doesn’t mean that there are so many laying around that they are a hazard to navigation?

And here I thought I could perform a public service by being a foster home to those poor wayward guns…
