Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States repealing the right to keep and bear arms.
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled (two-thirds of each House concurring therein), That the following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid for all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States at any time after the date of its submission for ratification:
‘Article–
1. Any right to keep and bear arms, whether under the Second Amendment to this Constitution, or under some pre-existing doctrine of natural law or common law or otherwise, or under Constitution or laws of any State, is repealed.
2. The privilege to keep and bear arms throughout the United States shall be under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.’

Repeal the Right to Keep and Bear Arms
[As if natural law can be “repealed”.
He also ignores the fact that the 2nd Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights and said Bill of Rights was a requirement for the agreement to enter into the Union. Hence if the 2nd Amendment were to be “repealed” would that mean that the states are no longer bound by the agreement to be a part of the union?
Of course he ignores the little problem of the majority of the people in this country support the existence of the 2nd Amendment. And finally he seems clueless that there are many states that would consider such an act sufficient grounds to have another civil war.
This is just a reminder that there are people out there that explicitly say they do want to destroy the 2nd Amendment.—Joe]
As I post this, it is the 236 Anniversary of when the Ruling Elites tried to enforce “Gun Control” on the Subjects of Lexington and Concord, Mass. It is also the day that those same Subjects became Citizens, but it did take over a year to get the paperwork done. Mr. Barkley, do you needed to be reminded of the old Quote: “Those who do not remember their History are Doomed to Repeat it”? Don’t even Try to Tread on Me.
I s’pose he can try to take my guns — or even just count them. Sigh. Gonna be a darned long day.

How can someone propose repealing the second amendment then go on to say this:
“Adopt “full incorporation” of rights: “Within the Fourteenth Amendment Section 1., after the words ‘privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States’ add the phrase ‘including any and all of their rights enumerated or implied in the Constitution'”
with a straight face?

I’m sure if he feels that way we can find some people who would support repealing the 1st, 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th and 13th amendments as well.
The rights enumerated by the Bill of Rights are natural rights. They derive absolutely zero power from being specifically enumerated. They were enumerated because the men who wrote the Constitution knew what the government would eventually do and created laws to bound it. At the time, some people didn’t understand why the second amendment even needed to be enumerated because it was thought to be so fundamental.
Many people forget this is a constitutional republic and the government is live within and be constrained by laws. Every time I hear someone call us a democracy I want to smack them. That is the last thing the fathers wanted because it is nothing more than mob rule. Crap like this only serves to protect those who are now representing the mob.

I, for one, welcome his attempt… And when it fails miserably, maybe the anti-rights cultists out there will have a better understanding of just how extreme their positions are, and just how little the American public wants their ideas to be enacted.
Correct; you can’t “repeal” a true right. You can only violate it (at your peril).
In my ideal America, this guy would be impeached and thrown out of office for life for even thinking about something like that. He took the Oath, and then he does this? He should be banished to Cuba.
I am so tired of these people.
Linoge; I think they know already. Their reaction is to call us idiots, extremists, terrirists, whatever it takes, and to seek ways to defeat the American Way outside of the regular process. They have been slowly and carefully building the system that will make that possible. B.W. Bush helped out with that quite a bit. We are very close to the brink, and if it comes down to just that, it won’t be pretty at all– not for anyone except those who long for chaos, and they are currently in charge.

Well no, it can’t (rhetorical, I know). That would also mean his *right* to life cannot be repealed either. But he should keep in mind that getting his way just might cause someone to apply the same action to one of his rights.
