Honoring our soldiers

Via an email list I am on.

Three head shot hits in a row at 1000 yards by an 84 year-old WWII sniper. It brings tears to my eyes:

  1. It was the AMU that kept the Army Sniper program from completely dieing out after Vietnam. Until the Infantry School stood up the Sniper course in 1986 it was the only way that we could train a soldier to become a sniper.

The AMU is the torchbearer for all our marksmanship history, it does not surprise me in the least that they honor those that came before.

  2. Just watched this with my dad. Mr. Gundy was his mailman in rural Missouri. He teared up a little watching it. An interesting character by all accounts.
