Quote of the day—Albert Einstein

The unleashed power of the atom has changed everything save our modes of thinking, and we thus drift towards unparalled catastrophe.

  1. Nukes would be AWESOME!

The major problem would be shooting them with a rifle with the range to stay outside the blast area…

  2. The “right” way to do it would be on the far side of the moon. It should be on the far side of the moon to avoid ejecting radioactive debris into the earth. And because there is no atmosphere to be pushed around the blast area would be smaller and precision rifle shots at ten miles would be relatively easy. But you would have to go underground and wait for an hour or three after each hit because it would take a while for all the material ejected into moon orbit to either come down or be tracked and their reentry predicted.

Even with that much thought put into it I still think it is drifting toward unparalleled catastrophe…

  3. I recall reading, a few years ago, somebody saying that we should set off a nuclear weapon every twenty years or so, up above-ground, in the atmosphere, and have the politicians stand close enough to it to feel the heat. Serious Business, as they say.
