Senator Van Drew, for whatever reason, is kowtowing to the pro-gun forces of darkness who want to turn this country into an armed society. It’s very simple: Do we want to be standing in line at a grocery store, at a movie theater, sitting next to someone in a church or anywhere else not knowing whether that person is legally carrying a handgun?

Sure beats hell out of KNOWING that the person is ILLEGALLY carrying a handgun. Because in the gun-free “victim disarmament zones”, those are the only people with the weapons.

He doesn’t think that way. He thinks of it in terms of total number of people with guns. The only characteristic of people that matter to him is if they have a gun or not.

Interestingly enough, I get more questions going through WinCo about my Ham Radio HT than I do the 1911 on my hip. The good news is though that’s the case, the idea of carrying a radio is more abnormal than carrying a firearm. Also amazingly enough, as many time’s as I’ve carried openly in there a shootout has not miraculously broken out, CD’s Smoke Pit is not riddled with bullet holes despite encouraging open carry with a 10% discount. Though we all know that, we see it every day.
I actually am starting to prefer open carry over concealed most of the time for one particular reason, destroying stereotypes. When I see someone staring or they flash a disgusted look, I just smile at them and say have a nice day. Being polite, helpful, and courteous while carrying goes far beyond any claims the enemy can make. When someone actually sees it with their own eyes, it’s extremely hard to believe the lies. Once they realize what they’ve been told are lies, it can cause that person to reevaluate their bigoted ideas.
It doesn’t work for everyone, japete for example would probably freak any my just smiling and saying have a nice day, but it works for most people who aren’t really exposed to the culture.

This is like the Brady campers getting all bent out of shape about the Wisconsin Open carry group. Just because its illegal for the Madison PD to say “Papers Please”, doesn’t make it WRONG because those guys are lawfully carrying guns!!! They should get in their place!
