Quote of the day–Robb Allen

The end was passed a long time ago. This is simply the epilogue.

This isn’t the end
[I suspect, since I tend to be such an optimist, that while this may be the epilogue it may also be the beginning of something else. Kevin points out a hint of things which may come. Kevin has a tendency toward pessimism. I’m hoping for some change we can believe in.–Joe]

  1. I heard Huckabee just within the last couple days tell us in detail how he’d manage health care more responsibly.

Yes, the Bad Cop just kicked us in the teeth, so we’re going to put his lifelong partner, the Good Cop, (the Republican Party) in charge at the next opportunity? Well, I’m sure Good Cop would be happy to run government health care. McCain would jump at the chance. Maybe he could beg really hard and get Colin Powell back. they could put Bill Clinton, Hillary, and G.W. Bush together with McCain on a special elite panel on health care, you know, ’cause it’s so important to get government-run health care done right, now that we have it. If Hukabee smiles enough and pretends to be genuine enough, maybe they’d let him play too.

I don’t know. If there’s change we can believe in, it’s going to have to come from the grassroots, ’cause Good Cop isn’t it. They had their chance. Over and over and over, and here we are.

I am also an optimist, and think you are right about this. I hope you are right, I should say. But I’m going to proceed under the assumption that you are.
