Quote of the day–Daniel Johnson

If gun people and libertarians want to reject the benefits of American society and live freely, independently and unfettered on their own, they should look for caves in Montana and, if they’re full up, Afghanistan probably has vacancies. They’ll definitely need their guns there.

The Second Amendment Fantasy and How Americans Have Been Taken In
[I find it interesting that Johnson and his ilk cling to their beliefs after all nine of the U.S. Supreme Court Justices found that the right to keep and bear arms was and is an individual right. And then they want us to leave when the facts don’t suit them. But then, what else can you expect from bigots?–Joe]

  1. Notice he leaves condescending additions to each and every comment posted so far?

  2. What’s funny is he isn’t even American…notice the byline: Alberta Canada.

    A foreigner tells me to go live in a cave because he read a biased book and, so, thinks he knows more about American History and the Constitution than we do?

    I’m convinced.

  3. Allow me to fix the quote;
    “If statists want to reject the benefits of American society (living freely, independently and unfettered) and live instead as cattle, they should look for a jungle in Guyana and start their own communal paradise. Their leaders will definitely need guns to keep the subjects from escaping.”

    Better now?

    And what is it with this repetitive use of “on their own” or some variation thereof? What horrible defects must there be in the U.S. and Canadian education systems that so few people understand the benefits of division of labor and free trade in an advanced society? You can’t do all that “on your own”, and all that’s necessary to make it work is for the nay-sayers to piss off. No, Little Grasshopper, we don’t want to “live on our own”. We want to live and produce and trade without being harassed or threatened with force at every turn. We want statists like you to mind your own business, stay the fuck out of our faces, and quit trying to run our lives.

    Why is that so much to ask? You aren’t even being asked to actually do anything or give up anything– just fuck off, stay out of people’s way, and watch the prosperity happen. What pathological, overwhelming sense of hatred, built on envy, must you be carrying around with you that you regard the very notion of liberty for your fellow Man with such spitting contempt?

  4. Reminds me of one of my favorite Slashdot exchanges:

    GFW: “I wish all you gun-toting fucktards would just go create your own nation.”

    Gun Nut: “We did. Who the hell let you in here?”

    I used to have (well, still do but can’t find it) a link to the /. thread. The Gun Nut in question there is Justin Buist
