Quote of the day–Marie

I find that people who are so enamored with guns are people who feel powerless in some way and have to prove something to world about how big, important and special they are.

Guns are a hideous necessity for law enforcement, but should never be in the hands of anyone else.

  1. Only if I open carry!!

How do I prove anything to “the world” (I am not in the habit of talking to the planet..) if I don’t flaunt a weapon?

Why then do the VAST majority of gun owners who wish to carry (a minority of owners – I am thinking), want to carry concealed?

When one carries concealed, there is no “proving” going on, otherwise – it ain’t concealed.

  2. MikeB302000,

Now do you see why we often accuse the pro-ignorance, anti-freedom gun control crowd of bigotry?

She didn’t say some or many or a few; she said anyone enamored are !! Just like you have done many times.

You’ve said that gun owners are responsible for crimes committed with firearms. Of course, you offer no
proof, no legal theory, no evidence to back it up.

Worse, when the same logic is applied to you regarding computers and child pron you react childishly and
    delete comments.

  3. I find that people who are so enamored with free speech are people who feel powerless in some way and have to prove something to world about how big, important and special they are.

    Substitute any right or freedom;

I find that people who are so enamored with security in their property, papers and effects are people who feel powerless in some way and have to prove something to world about how big, important and special they are.

I find that people who are so enamored with their right to vote are people who feel powerless in some way and have to prove something to world about how big, important and special they are.

It comes down to whether you believe people have rights, or you see them as property of the state. Why exercise any right unless you feel powerless or have something to ptove to the world?

So we can distill this down farther; Why not just do what the smarter people in government tell you to do, unless there’s something wrong with you?

    -Or-

If you want to live your own life for you own purposes, rather than be run by others for others, you are defective and something should be done about you.

    -Or-

If you won’t be a slave by choice, we’ll make you one.

  4. Lyle, The substitution game is useless. If you can’t explain yourself without resorting to it or the silly comparisons you guys love so much, then you’ve got a problem.

I said Marie’s comment applies “to some.” Do you deny it? Are you saying that it applies to not one single gun owner? That would make you as bad as her, wouldn’t it?
