  1. Yep. I linked to it the other day in a different context and never got around to pointing out how much they hate civil rights activists.

  2. They’ve also made use of one of Mr. Volk’s photographs, presumably without his knowledge

  3. Well nobody who’s seen a copy of seattle weekly would be surprised but it -is- nice of Rick to be so completely consistent. Nothing brings out the bigotry better then a little judicial action.

  4. We have given them permission to use that “N” word against us. I like Caleb’s blog but embracing the term “gun nut” has always bothered me. Using the term gun nut has indicated to THEM that we acknowledge some level of instability or irrationality to our behaviour. It lends itself to the image of drunken hillbillies shooting beer cans off their heads. Making the term “gun nut” equivalent to the word “nigger” would help us I believe, but WE must stop accepting it. I think that illustrating bigotry by substitution is a great tool, and this would be another way to change perceptions about us as well.

  5. I can’t get behind the movement to equate anti-gun sentiment to racial bigotry. It may have some similarly irrational qualities, but it’s not the same as discriminating against people on the basis of inalterable phsyical characteristics.

It is, at heart, a difference of opinion and philosophy. That makes it fair game for discussion. However, since the basic right is protected by our Consitution, our side trumps theirs every time in any fari interpretation.
