Quote of the day–Phil

Oh, sure, they say they’re doing it for folks with paralysis, but you know and I know that just as soon as they are able, GE is going to build a primate powered MechWarrior.

I wonder if SCOTUS will see the logic in rocket launchers as self-defense weaponry then?

  1. Heya Joe, thanks for the honor. I fixed the post and placed the “you” where it belonged.

  2. Joe, OT but I can’t find your email. I’m wanting to run post on gun laws at my site [UK blogger] and I’ve been sort of following you through a mate, Bag’s Rants. The problem is, I’ve been through your blog and that of smallest Minority – Kevin and I’m looking for stats.

You see, my line is going to be that wherever they’ve restricted guns, the killings have gone up or the crime rate or whatever. Now, in the Uk, there are some strange people like that Scot who argued the case, I think with you. So I’m going to bring a whole load of people down on me and I need to be armed.

I don’t go into fights unarmed.

You’re probably busy but to just say to me – look at the sidebar doesn’t quite do it as I don’t know exactly where to look. Is there some way of getting hard stats on the difference between unrestricted small arms access and restricted?

My feeling is that over here, taking guns away simply allows nutters to go around holding people to ransom. Anyway, if you could.

  3. Joe, thanks for that. I’ve heard a lot about you and Bag says you’re a very busy guy and might not have time to reply. I’ll go to those links and email you later on today – have to run now. This post I plan to put up probably Saturday because I’d like it to be pretty watertight.

  4. James, my email address is at the bottom right of this page with an icon of a envelope just above the “Privacy Policy” link.

I would like to suggest you follow the links in the post Just One Question. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) reviewed a number of studies and was unable to conclude gun control made people safer. That review, and the studies they looked at, are probably the most reliable data points.

Let me know if I can be of further help. Send me an email and I’ll send you some links to my blog posts that I think will be of use to you. I may not be able to get to it until this weekend or early because of a bunch of stuff going on at work and home but I do want you to win your fight and I’ll help as best I can.
