Pelosi and Holder want gun registration

Via SAF:

Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on April 7 acknowledged that gun registration is on her agenda, days after Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters in Mexico that the Second Amendment would not “stand in the way” of administration plans to crack down on alleged gun trafficking to Mexico.

“These are alarming remarks from Speaker Pelosi and Attorney General Holder,” said Second Amendment Foundation founder Alan Gottlieb. “It appears that the Obama administration and Capitol Hill anti-gunners have dropped all pretense about their plans for gun owners’ rights, and it looks like the gloves are coming off.”

Pelosi’s revelation came during an interview on ABC’s Good Morning, America. While insisting that Congress “never denied” the gun rights of American Citizens, Pelosi told Roberts, “We want them registered. We don’t want them crossing state lines” Gottlieb noted that citizens’ rights do not stop at state lines.

“But that doesn’t really matter,” he observed. “History has shown that around the world, registration has always led to confiscation.”
In Mexico, according to the Wall Street Journal, Holder was asked if the administration might encounter constitutional issues as it tries to crack down on alleged gun trafficking. His response: “I don’t think our Second Amendment will stand in the way of efforts we have begun and will expand upon.”

“These comments belie administration promises and Democrat rhetoric that party leaders respect the rights of law-abiding Americans to own the firearm of their choice,” Gottlieb said. “They imposed registration of semi-autos in Pelosi’s California and it led to a ban, but it certainly didn’t disarm criminals, like the convicted felon who killed four Oakland police officers last month. We know from Holder that the Obama administration wants to renew the nationwide ban on such firearms, but that won’t prevent crime, either.

“The administration and Congressional anti-gunners have declared war on gun rights,” Gottlieb said. “The press seems deliberately blind to the statements from Pelosi and Holder, who blame our gun rights for their incompetence in dealing with crime. More than 90 million gun owners haven’t hurt anybody, and they are tired of being treated like criminals.”

I’ll register my guns after the courts rule it’s legal to require registration of blacks, Jews, and homosexuals. Oh, and I’m out of ammo.

  1. I may be a war-mongering, hate-filled, right-wing racist Christian Identity Jew-hating gay-bashing self-defeating own-worst-enemy useful-idiot not-helping-The-Cause Three-Percenter militia conspiracy theorist kook (did I miss any common slurs?) for saying it, but am I the only one that wants them to get on with it already?!

It’s like being nauseous. You get tired of it and just want to vomit.

Let’s get this shit going. You want it, Princess Pelosi? Try it. Draw the god damn lines already, while I still have decent enough eyesight to be able to hit a pig from a hundred yards.

We need to get all the information we can out there right now. The only way we’re a credible threat is if every single man, woman and child who has an interest in preserving liberty in this country has the knowledge and means to make its theft very, very painful for the robber.

If you’ve got any top secret explosive knowledge you’ve been sitting on, Joe, now’s the time to get it out there… before they slap a mandatory prison sentence on disseminating information. 😛

  2. John, the best of my explosives knowledge is already on the web. There is some software I want to write that I’ll probably get to after Boomershoot 2009. It should be very interesting if it works out like I think it will. Expect it to take a few months to finish. I’ll make it publicly available when it’s ready.

In the mean time check out the other software I’ve made available here and here and attend Boomershoot.

Sennin, I don’t think I’ll be able to attend either the NRA convention or the GBR this year. Two weddings are cutting into both time and money.

  3. John; I think you left out paranoid, sexist, chauvinist, constitutionalist (yeah; that’s slur now) paternalist, puppy hater, infidel and Great Satan, to say nothing of obsessed gun lover, and a bitter clinger with a small penis. I’m sure I could come up with more, but those are the ones that just rolled off my fingers.

Joe; Better make sure you have plenty. Those “respecters of our second amendment” may be cowards, but there are quite a few of them and they find strength in their numbers.

  4. BAG day is coming. Just don’t take your new acquisition to the Tea Party. Not this time…

They are proposing this and the media is surprised that business is STILL booming (no pun intended) at gun shops?!?

    Duh..

There are folks who believe in and will defend the 2nd ammendment (and the rest of the Constitution).

  5. These people are fomenting death and destruction and it must be exactly what they desire because they should be able to see what the results will be. So like Mr. Higgins above lets go for it. I too am tired of their pussy footing around. If and when they send some mothers son out here to die then we must as Dutchman6 puts it declare open warfare on all these sons of bitches and bitches.

  6. Have you heard about the gun confiscations in Greensburg, KS after a major tornado tore through the city? The citizens were forced to leave (without martial law declared) and when they returned found their guns confiscated. It’s already happening on American soil. http://tinyurl.com/cpb7m9

  7. This is just freakin’ scary. I wonder what city/state the initial gun grab will be in. Will they expect us to peaceably bring them in? Will they send uniformed cops to collect Them? Will JBT’s kick the door in at 0-dark-thirty?
I can think of a lot of places where blood will freely run in the streets if they try this.

  8. Kellene, it was my understanding that the police kept good records and after showing and ID with an address corresponding to where the gun was found (or some such thing) the guns were returned in good condition.

drjim, registration won’t be any more successful here than it was in Canada. There won’t be any door-to-door confiscation here in the foreseeable future. Anyone with half a brain knows it would be just too dangerous.

Ride Fast, Thanks. I was rather proud of that when I wrote it.
