Quote of the day–Sebastian of Snowflakes in Hell

Merry Christmas to you all.  Let’s all enjoy it.  The Grinch is coming to town on January 20th, and we don’t yet know which presents he’s going to try to take away.

Merry Christmas
[I was tempted to use something I got in email which was more in line with my true feelings, but little overdone, about Christmas:

Having returned from my customary drive around the neighborhood shouting “Bah, Humbug” at everyone, with a reindeer dummy strapped to the car, Merry Christmas to all!

But I didn’t want to go through the bother of sending an email to get permission to use their name and Sebastain captures my mood a little bit better.–Joe]

  1. Dear Joe,

You quote Thomas Paine, I will just quote Homer Simpson “I agree with your opinions and wish to subscribe to your newsletter”!

Really enjoyed your posts. Saw you on “Shooting Gallery” TV show, you were great. Which reminds me of another H.S. quote “there is nothing wrong with growing up watching tons of TV, I did and I turned out TV.”

Or maybe that was Reinhold Niebuhr whichever wrote that prayer. I am probably the only person you will ever meet who actually read one of “Mr. Serenity prayers” books. I don’t believe there is a more boring writer.

Sorry for the that rant. Their is going to be a new book by Christopher Hitchens about Thomas Paine. They are already making a movie about him based on it.

    Happy new year,

    M.D.

PS Thanks for the great writings. Please print them out and keep them for history/family sake. I think it is a shame that so much more is being written now but in 150 years I doubt that any emails will be around to read. Unlike my great uncles letters from WWII in the south Pacific.Paper is the best format.
