Mayflower Madam

I keep wondering if disgraced New York Governer and anti-gun bigot Spitzer was aware of the book Mayflower Madam when he booked a room at this particular hotel:

As recently as this past Valentine’s Day, Feb. 13, Spitzer, who officials say is identified in a federal complaint as “Client 9,” arranged for a prostitute “Kristen” to meet him in Washington, D.C.

The woman met Client 9 at the Mayflower Hotel, room 871, “for her tryst,” according to the complaint.

The book was a true story and a very good one. If he hasn’t read it already maybe he’ll have time while he is in prison.

  1. “Mayflower” irony is priceless. It also speaks volumes that Mr. Spitzer thought so much of himself, and so little of those he ruthlessly attacked, that he chose “The Emperor’s Club” for his expensive trysts. What Freud have an opinion on this?

  2. If given the choice between legislators and executives who violate their Oath of Office while obeying vice laws, and those who obey their Oath of Office and are outrageous whore-mongers and coke-heads, I’ll take the latter.

The former directly violates your rights, and the latter respects them.

That we have an anti=freedom politician as a whore-monger is certainly no surprize, but I fail to see a connection between the two.

How about we reward champions of the Bill of Rights and of other constraints on government power with public-funded prostitutes? It’d be vastly better than what we have now. Wouldn’t it?

I find all the hoopla over a whore-monger, simultaneous with the total silence among the MSM regarding anti-Constitutional behavior, to be the story. Now if he paid the hookers with someone else’s money, that’s also a story.

  3. Lyle, I agree. As son James and I discussed last night he got caught by laws that should not even exist.

The real prosecution should have been in regards to violating 18 USC 242. But that he is probably out of office with his reputation in tatters, and looking at potential time in prison is something to be pleased about no matter it came about.

  4. I thought the same thing, that he MUST have heard of the case since he was building his career on similar investigations.
By all indications he also violated people’s rights by forcing upon them certain stipulations, demands that they pay stiff fines and change the way they operated — all without any trials or judicial determinations that they had done anything wrong. Simply put he was also a shakedown artist – and thus in the Whore category himself.

  5. “…and thus in the Whore category himself.”

Far worse than a whore, I should think. I doubt that the average whore uses extortion and intimidation in the regular course of business. A good, experienced whore might be far better suited to hold public office than the majority of current politicians.

  6. A whore should be judged by the same criteria as other professionals offering services for pay–such as dentists, lawyers, hairdressers, physicians, plumbers, etc. Is she professionally competent? Does she give good measure? Is she honest with her clients? It is possible that the percentage of honest and competent whores is higher than that of plumbers and much higher than that of lawyers. And enormously higher than that of professors.
