[Kevin’s post reminded me of this. And how ironic that Kevin’s inspiration for this post, Markadelphia, claims corporations oppress people. Governments have a near monopoly on force while corporations have can only use force, via the court system, to enforce contracts and monopolies (such as patents) granted to them by the government. The more power that is granted the government the more oppression that is possible and inevitably occurs. People that advocate more government control are, by their very nature, advocating oppression.–Joe]
But you don’t understand; McDonalds, Wal Mart, the oil companies, Big Pharmaceutical, et al, “force” us to use their products by making them so desirable and by “forcing” us to both view and heed their advertizing.
Thus; creativity and peaceable, voluntary exchange equal oppression, while socialism represents “liberation” from “corporate tyranny”.
Feedom equals coercion and extortion, and coercion and extortion equals freedom.
Funny things is, the Jihadists are saying basically the same thing, which is why I have no wonder as to why the Left seems in denial of the idea that jihad is any real threat.
