Assault revolvers

As pointed out by Say Uncle we have the media and a prosecutor demonizing an ordinary revolver as an “assault handgun”:

Maryland Assistant Attorney General Clarence E. Goetz had recommended Vaisman serve five years in the Maryland Division of Correction.

Seized from Vaisman’s residence were a broad range of weapons including assault handguns. Among the weapons were at least one Colt Cobra and at least one Colt Diamondback.

Don’t think for a single nanosecond that the bigots will stop with “Saturday Night Specials”, “Assault Weapons”, or “50 caliber Sniper rifles”. They didn’t stop with short barreled shotguns or machine guns. The didn’t stop when convicted felons were prohibited from firearms possession. They didn’t stop when they prohibited mail order of firearms. They didn’t stop with the Brady Act or the assault weapon ban.

They won’t stop until WE stop them. They must be politically exterminated. The way we do that is to have the proper state of mind when we advocate for gun owner rights. We have to make membership in organizations like the VPC, the Brady Bunch, and The Gun Guys look like membership in the KKK–because it is.

  1. “We have to make membership in organizations like the VPC, the Brady Bunch, and The Gun Guys look like membership in the KKK–because it is.”

Um, not to nit pick but I don’t know of a way to actually become a member of any of those oganizations other than subscribe to their newsletters.

The Gun Guys and the VPC are shill organizations funded by the Joyce Foundation. The VPC and Brady Bunch only accept donations. The Gun Guys don’t even allow people to sign up and comment.

So when any of the 3 say they represent the people… WHAT people? The people they send free email newsletters to I guess since none of the 3 have any actual dues paying members.

  2. Good point. Can I almost squirm out of it by saying “membership” is defined by being on their mailing lists (unless you are only on the list to gather intelligence like I am)?

The Gun Guys also beg for donations sometimes. So maybe I should say, “…donating money to the VPC, the Brady Bunch, and The Gun Guys look like donating money to the KKK…”

    Thanks for the feedback.

  3. The Maryland DOJ is out of control. They are mentally unstable and therefore unfit to serve.

Now excuse me while I collect some assault rocks for my collection.

  4. Erm… I don’t get it…

Since when is a handgun not an assault weapon?

Yes there are target and hunting uses, but handguns are concealable and meant for sneaking up on humans.. for an assault and for dealing with those who do just that.

Duh… It goes bang. It can be used for assault.

Or, does this apply only to scary black handguns?

    Jeeez…

  5. An “assault weapon”, in the words of the anti-gun bigots, is something that is too dangerous to be allowed in the hands of ordinary people. Hence they must be banned.

It used to be that “assault weapon” just mean a gun that was easily confused with fully automatic weapons (Josh Sugarman of the VPC) and hence easier to get legislation banning them. Now they are apparently expanding the definition to include revolvers.
