Updated Just One Question.

On the suggestion of “Al” I have updated Just One Question. It’s now:

Can you demonstrate just one time, one place, throughout all of human history, where the average person was made safer by restricting their access to handheld weapons?

The previous wording was awkward and a bit ambiguous. This is much better. I did tweak it just slightly from Al’s suggestion but still he deserves the credit for recognizing the poor wording and the appropriate correction. Thank you.

Update: Ry, in the comments, suggested even further improvements. I removed still another word after taking his suggestion. It’s now:

Can you demonstrate one time or place, throughout all history, where the average person was made safer by restricting access to handheld weapons?

  1. If “no” then surely we are entitled to a full return and refund policy on any and all anti gun laws.

Not that it should matter: I want government to protect my liberty, which is the path to maximum “safety”. Beyond that, my personal safety is my responsibility.

On that note one could, with credibility, come up with some very important alternative concepts of “safety”: How “safe” are we from Iminent Domain property confiscations? How “safe” are we from mistaken no-knock entries and warrentless searches? How “safe” are we from confiscatory taxation? How “safe” are we from crippling legal restrictions on our industries and on our personal property? How “safe” are we from frivilous lawsuits, should someone slip on our sidewalks, or get burned from a cup of coffee, etc.? How “safe” are we from errosions of our Constitutionally protected Liberties, perpetrated by those sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States?

Hmmmm? Answer that, Lefties! How “safe” are we from your perpetual finger pointing and your anti-American, socialist bullshit?

  2. I’d kill the “just” and a couple other words.

Can you demonstrate one time or place, throughout all of history, where the average person was made safer by restricting access to handheld weapons?
