For every attacker shot and killed in self-defense, 130 Americans are killed by guns for other reasons.

  1. All too many people have the idea that if a gun is involved, someone is going to die. That’s pretty much what you see in the movies and on TV, and Mother Jones is trying to spread the misinformation.

In case anyone reading this doesn’t already know, the vast majority of self defense uses of guns by regular citizens involves the firing of exactly zero shots. The mere display of the gun, by someone willing and able to use it, solves the problem.

I like how they use the phrase, “killed by guns.” Yup, the guns jumped out of their cases and started firing themselves at innocent people. I hate it when that happens.

Of course, none of this addresses the Right of self defense, or the Constitution. Those I suppose are to be regarded as secondary issues.
